The Samples Choir - Sunday Sounds
Sunday Sounds by The Samples Choir (best known from Sunday Service) is an expansive selection of choir chants, gospel vocal chops, hymns, mantras and melody samples highlighting the best of chorale music and beyond. With loops ranging from 63 BPM up to 215 BPM, get to grips with this exclusive selection of original sounds, offering a treasure trove of exclusive set of vocal stacks, piano riffs, organ lines, loops and one-shots, crafted and curated to be used in a multitude of genres, styles and productions by the one and only The Samples Choir. The Samples Choir is a multi-faceted vocal group which has a vast repertoire ranging from classical to hip hop. Sunday Sounds was the result of Choir Director, Jason White and singer/songwriter, Nikki Grier, two of the architects behind the world renowned Sunday Service movement. This collection intends to give the listener a small glimpse as to what a Sunday morning with The Samples Choir might sound like. Jason White is a Grammy, Dove, Stellar Award winning producer, composer and musician. He has been recognized for his work as Vocal Director/Contractor on internationally acclaimed shows as American Idol, The Grammy Awards, X Factor, America’s Got Talent, The Oscars. Known for his ability to move comfortably between various styles of music, Jason is often called upon to lend his talents to projects in the traditional, contemporary, and urban gospel genres. His distinctive sound and commitment to excellence in music have caused him to touch the lives of millions of people with the life-giving message of gospel music. Nikki Grier is an artist, songwriter, producer that has worked with Kanye West, Michael Jackson, and Celine Dion just to name an amazing few. In 2006 she signed a publishing deal with Dr. Dre and that same year she went on to co-write and vocal produce a plethora of platinum hits. Since leaving Aftermath Records, Nikki has gone on to diversify her portfolio by adding acting, voiceovers, and touring to the pot. Currently, Nikki is the Creative Director for Kanye West’s Sunday Service, where weekly she reworks popular songs and transforms them into viral pop culture anthems. All sounds are 100% royalty-free, and every loop and one-shot has been tempo-synced for ease of use. Please note: This pack ONLY includes vocal loops, piano loops and organ loops. Silk & Soul with the Splice Gospel Choir
This is our second sample pack with the Splice Gospel Choir led by Djore Nance. He conducted and arranged vocal parts for four singers on the spot with written chord progressions. The vocalists heard on this pack are Chenee Campbell, Jhetti Lashley, Rasul A-Salaam McPherson, and Djore Nance. You’ll find a wide variety of vocal harmonies, adlibs, riffs, and more. While our first pack with the choir, Spirit + Soul, focused on classic choir harmonies, this session offers modern flavor. We first captured sounds of classic soul and R&B with tinges of doo-wop, then took them to the next level with sound design and processing. As a result, these samples are production-ready for any modern R&B, future soul, hip hop, or trap song.
The United Voices Sample Pack
Gospel music relies heavily on the sound of vocalists coming together singing in harmony and in unison, from choirs, to ensembles and even down to duets, the power of people singing together is monumental and foundational to the genre. “The United Voices Sample Pack” highlights an ensemble of church vocalists who are our friends and contemporaries who play a part in creating and sustaining the culture of music in their local churches. This release has soprano, alto and tenor voices singing 15 different loop arrangements with accompanying organ and piano all available together or separately for more control. Whether you need a top line melody or supporting background vocal harmonies this pack offers a blend of voices that are diverse and inspiring.
The Vamp
Quartet Gospel music is one of the earliest and most traditional styles that make up the roots and foundation of gospel. Originating in the southern regions of America sung by blacks who were enslaved on plantations, it was a musical tradition that brought unity, solace, and hope in the face of adversity. The tradition has carried on long after slavery and has gone on to not only be a foundation in gospel music (with legendary and pioneering music from groups like the Mighty Clouds of Joy, The 5 Blind Boys of Alabama, and The Dixie Hummingbirds to name a few) but it served as a bridge to be a major proponent in the foundation of soul and early pop music with acts like Lou Rawls, Johnnie Taylor, Wilson Pickett, Otis Clay and Sam Cooke tracing their roots to the genre. This music style highlights four part vocal harmonies with much of the content being about conversion and salvation. The Sound Doctrine team had grammy award winning producer and gospel music pioneer Dana Sorey help us channel these authentic sounds at CBlake studios along with highly decorated instrumentalists and producers, Morgan Turner, Antwann Easton, and our very own Leonard “Pudge” Tribbett with accompanying vocals from gospel recording artist “Jay Todd.” We present to Splice users “The Vamp,” a homage to the gospel of old that we know is useful for any producer today!

Spirit & Soul: Splice Gospel Choir
Splice Originals’ Spirit + Soul: Gospel Choir celebrates classic tradition with joyous and serene harmonies recorded on vintage microphones. Head vocal arranger, Djore Nance designed 16-part gospel arrangements with the parts of four singers split into four layers. These arrangements, one-shots, and vocal phrases bring an uplifting energy only the plush vocals of gospel form can achieve. Dripping in rich tradition, these sounds are begging to be used as the roots of your next R&B or hip hop jam.
Reflections
Sound Doctrine presents “Reflections” a special sample pack inspired by the crossover success of gospel artists who found themselves on popular R & B charts in the early 90’s. A specific inspiration for this release is the massive success of artists like BeBe & CeCe Winans. This era of Gospel is marked by a change in the sonic approach; singers did duet ballads that were more related to R&B songs of that day as opposed to the traditional roots of gospel, all while the music incorporated more synthesizers and studio programmed production that wasn’t usually found in the genre before. “Reflections” will give producers access to 15 loops of original compositions that have catchy soulful vocal hooks and melodies paired with true vintage synthesizer sounds that are easy to use in your own creations. These sounds are a must have to add to any library in need of diverse song starters or more tools to create from!
Rendition
Sound Doctrine presents “Rendition” a sample pack offering resampled soulful textures in an easy drag and drop format for producers. Thematically this release is exactly what one may get if they were a fly on the fall in a gospel church service, recording some of those moments to immediately dump into a sampler. We sought to do some of the work for you and did some low fidelity style processing to tape to give a sound that is ready for any production project. This pack contains diverse sounds that can stand out in any producer’s library, but we specifically sampled different gospel vocalists over soulful piano, organ and bass! With 15 full melodic loops and multiple corresponding loop stems, this pack contains all the essentials for your next stand out track!
Reverence
Gospel music in the African American Church has been a backbone of soul and black music for decades. Countless recording artists and musicians can have their musical roots traced back to the local church, whether it was them singing their first solo with the church choir or backing up the preacher on drums as a first instrument, this story is all to common. “Reverence,” is a sample pack inspired by these musical roots that our team knows all too well being first hand products of it. From wailing organ chords, to uplifting piano progressions accompanying choir vocal samples that float in the reverb of a sanctuary, this is a special take on a church service held by musicians and producers who take pride in chopping and sample curation.
Testimony
“Testimony” is a sample pack that highlights a small part of the sonic journey of gospel from the 70s to the early 90’s. Gospel’s blues and soul roots always hold a foundation within the music with the common instruments usually being drums, bass, guitar, piano and organ but near the end of the 70’s and into the 80’s so many instrumentalists across genres started experimenting with including synthesizer instruments. Gospel musicians have always been among the most skilled and pioneering in the world. Simultaneously the voices of gospel singers have stood as the standard for heart and soul expression in popular music. The iconic Clark Sisters were a group that embodied this pioneering sound across eras that had such an impact well outside the gospel community. From their chart topping classic “You Brought the Sunshine,” to being sampled on Jay-Z’s “Family Feud,” the influence and impact is undeniable. This release features the innovative sounds of gospel’s experimentation with instrumentation and a predominantly female ensemble inspired by the likes of the Clark Sisters. In this pack you will have access to over half a gig of sound. Select from 15 melodic loops varying in texture and composition all filled with loads of individual loop stems featuring a stacked female ensemble vocal style perfect for sampling. We were intentional about offering diverse authentic moments from the genre and style, add these sounds to your library and create your own special musical moments!
Remembrance
“Remembrance” is a Sound Doctrine release focused on giving users access to all the good things about Gospel music. Sourced straight from local church choir rehearsals with live in studio recorded organ, piano and synthesizers. With this release users will have access to authentic gospel vocalists doing soulful riffs, runs and exhortation moments that are a trademark of the black church experience.
Processional
“Processional” is our second Sound Doctrine label installment of resampled styled loops. This special pack was created with the intent of giving producers easy moments for looping and sampling, while also giving them song starters that are full of rich instrumentation and composition. Among the loops available there are resampled stems of choir background vocals accompanied by real organ and upright piano loops that really portray the heart of Gospel’s sound in church. With over half a gig of sounds available in this release we know producers will find much use with these tools for a wide array of projects.
