ianhitsdrums 'Breakbeat Science'
ianhitsdrums debuts on Splice with his modern take on the classic breakbeats that created one of the world's most loved music genres, Jungle music. Ian captures the grooves and nuances of breakbeats such as the Think, Amen, Hot Pants, Soulpride, Funkymule, and Apache breaks and includes a selection of drum-step, hard-step, tech-step, percussion and cymbal loops, and one-shots.Jungle is a genre of dance music that developed out of the UK rave scene and sound system culture in the 1990s—emerging from breakbeat hardcore, the style characterised by rapid breakbeats, heavily syncopated percussive loops, samples, and synthesised effects, combined with the deep basslines, melodies, and vocal samples found in dub, reggae and dancehall, as well as hip hop and funk. Many producers frequently sampled the "Amen Break" or other breakbeats from funk and jazz recordings. Jungle was a direct precursor to the drum and bass genre, which emerged in the mid-1990s.The drums in this pack can also be used for other music genres, such as Dubstep, Breakbeat, certain styles of House, and other forms of Bass Music.

From its modest beginnings, the show has blossomed into a dynamic fusion of styles and genres, showcasing the best of both artists and offering a truly unique musical experience. "Breakbeat Culture" is a collection of Live Drum and Bass grooves. The Jungle Drummer recorded the pack in several days using several kits and busted out all his favourite grooves, which modern producers will find invaluable for adding realism and dynamics to tracks that could benefit from a live feel.

Classic Jungle Breaks by Ned Haweeli
A drumming legend in the making, Ned Haweeli brings his first drum sample pack to Splice. Ned delivers a collection of raw, free-from-heavy-processing, Jungle/D&B inspired breaks recorded in his studio in Brooklyn, New York.Notes from Ned:The idea behind this pack is to offer producers a variety of classic Jungle/Drum & Bass breaks. They were recorded on an acoustic kit and played by myself. Various kit tunings were applied to achieve the different sounds from the original Jungle era and different production styles to round out the pack as Jungle and Drum & Bass compatible. We also ran some of the breaks through various analogue outboard gear to get distinct sounds. We wanted to create drum loop samples free from heavy processing such as distortion, compression, EQ etc.
Reworked Breaks
Reworked Breaks is a continuation of the Sample Magic best selling Vintage Breaks series - serving up original iterations of classic sounding 60s, 70s, and 80s beats - expertly processed and designed through a plethora of highly popular hardware samplers and outboards to emulate second, third and even fourth generation sampling techniques. Reworked Breaks comes packed with a gold mine of multi-genre and multi-tempo loops in a hugely diverse beat collection. From raw golden era, boom-bap and 12-bit beats to pitched rave rattlers and gritty garage grooves, this genre and tempo-spanning (87 - 170bpm) collection packs a beat-making punch. The attention to detail is unrivaled with an almost limitless combination of drum kits, mics and vintage outboard processing employed to craft authentic-sounding fills from across the decades. ianhitsdrums 'Good Looking Breaks'
Ian Maciak is a Pennsylvania-based recording artist, drummer, and producer specializing in electronic music styles. With twenty years of percussion experience, he's worked alongside artists such as ALZRN CRMSN (Beacon), Micah Jasper (Rebecca Black), Jonathan Maron, Travis Stewart (Machinedrum), Onlyruin, Tigran Hamasyan, Tony Grey, Shigeto, 88Katanas and drums/produces for his solo project 'Trachuk' on the Queens, New York-based label Mechanical Official. His inspirations for drumming aren't other drummers but producers, DJs, and electronic musicians. I am heavily inspired by early 90's Jungle, UK Garage, Footwork, and many more experimental IDM artists.
