Tinieblas is a Spanish word that translates to "darkness". Inspired by the inherent mystery surrounding the word, producer Erick Bardales created a collection of sounds that could both fit a modern horror film and lend itself to dope trap records. To craft the dark, eerie melodies found in this pack, he used an assortment of synths and VSTs, including the M4000D Mini Digital Mellotron, Moog Subsequent 37, The Prince by Frank Dukes, Vessel by Splice, Arturia V Collection 9, and ANA2.
La Formula
Inspired by Latin trap artists coming out of NYC such as Tali Goya, Chucky 73, and Lito Kirino, Splice Originals producer, Erick Bardales presents his take on the dark, brooding, thumping sounds of Latin-influenced trap music. Explore menacing 808s, haunting bells, effected strings, melodic stacks including vocals in 80-160 BPM, and way more. Bardales used a Moog Sub37, Tascam Portaone Ministudio Tape Machine, Roland JU06A, UAD plugins, and the Ableton Live 11 Suite in making this pack.
Comunión: Dark Latin Trap
Erick Bardales strikes again with another fire Splice Originals pack. Comunión: Dark Latin Trap was inspired by an idea he had. He imagined how Kanye, Anuel AA, Drake, and Chucky 73 would all sound on a song together. The result is trap beats with a distinctive Latin influence. These sounds would fit equally well in a chart-topper or underground mixed tape.To get the vibe right, Erick used Arturia V Collection 8, The Prince, ANA2, Output Thermal, Wavesfactory Cassette, RC-20, Mellotron m4000d Mini, Moog Sub37, Ozone 8, Inflator, and Fabfilter ProL2 at EQT Studios in Downtown LA.
Infancia: Dark Trap RnB
For Infancia: Dark Trap RnB, music producer Erick Bardales explored his long-lasting curiosity about how it would sound if he composed fun and childlike melodies on hard-hitting drums and 808s. He experimented with his voice using Teenage Engineering OP1 synth and layered some of the sounds he created using the OP1 with Korg Collection 3, Arturia V Collection 8, and ANA2. He used Reels and Wires by Audiothing to give the samples that warm, lo-fi texture along with Arturia Tape Mello-FI for warp and noise. He also used Thermal and Decapitator on the 808s, some otto on the drums, StageOne on synths, and Ozone 8, Inflator, and FabFilter L2 on his mix bus.
Washington Heights: Latin Trap
For this Splice Originals, Willy Rodriguez - aka Willy The Producer - took elements of Southern trap and collided them with Latin rhythms. Inspired by acts like Timbaland, Ramon Orlando, and Michel Camilo, this pack bridges and blends influential cultures. Deep bass grooves, trap beats, and synth loops intertwine with the grooves of timbales, tamboras, congas, and more. Willy The Producer was uniquely positioned to produce this pack as the musical director of the Tito Puente Jr Orchestra, a member of the band, La Excelencia, and a producer for artists such as Romy Dya, Bruno Mars, and Zana.
