OMG RONNY Kit V1
Rap producer Ronny J was born Ronald J. Spence, Jr. in New Jersey in 1992. Spencer grew up more interested in art and architecture than music, but after relocating to the Miami area for college, he began experimenting with music production and beat-making. He discovered he had a talent for it and quickly fell in with the Miami hip-hop collective C9, a group of artists led by Denzel Curry. His raw, experimental, and often lo-fi beats had a unique essence, and his tracks soon became the backdrops for hit flows from big names in the burgeoning trap scene such as Lil Pump and XXXTENTACION. He also worked with artists such as Ski Mask the Slump God, Smokepurpp, Keith Ape, and others before signing a deal with Atlantic in 2017. His debut mixtape, OMGRONNY, appeared in 2018 alongside singles like "WOTR" and "Doesn't Matter." J continued to find success the following year with collaborative tracks like the Ty Dolla $ign and Rich the Kid-assisted "Lights Out" and "Stack It Up" featuring Lil Pump. Inspiration for Splice Originals - Gutta: Hard Trap comes from the sounds of grimy street rap such as Lil Baby, EST Gee, and 42 Dugg. You’ll find lots of pianos chopped with Gross Beat from Fruity Loops and filtered to get that dark sound. Synths come from the Arturia V8 plugin using heavy saturation. We brought in strings and brass with the new Triton Extreme plugin. Other strings, plucks, and choirs came from the Mellotron with tons of filtering, chopping, and reverb to get that haunting vibe. You can’t have grime without that bounce. Drums are hard-hitting with kicks, snares, and 808s rounding out this pack and bringing it alive. In addition to the gear listed above, we also employed a Yamaha Arius YDP-184 Piano, Mini Moog, WA-57 Microphone, Splice Beat Maker, Shaperbox 2, Sausage Fattener, Wires by Audio Things, and RC-20.

As with every AudeoBøx offering, we try to make the next better than the last, and Jetpack 2 follows that ethos farther than we've ever taken it before. This pack serves as the first time in our history that we've been able to gather 8 to10 of our unique sound designers to create a body of work that is wholly original, and unprecedentedly cohesive while remaining individual. To tie this all together, Q Rock brought out a fresh set of drum loops ready for every occasion. For this iteration of Jetpack, we wanted to bring in fresh blood to make each vertical of the pack as special as it could be. At the suggestion of Jon, we brought in Dabow, a monster sound designer we specifically chose for a set of Hard Trap songstarters. And speaking of trap, we brought back SVGAR who worked on our drum necessities in the Twisted Metal 2 collection to bring melodies, stems, and more to make your creativity pop. When it came to pop, Wanna Wake had reached out to us when we were planning this collection, and we knew we wanted the EDM duo to take a stab at crafting a collection that would be floor-filling ear candy while also exploring their sound design prowess with over 100 original sound effects, which brings us to R&B. The vocal recordings took place at pirate studios in Notting Hill, West London while the mixing and post production was carried out by Skit at the Komorebi Audio studio in Herts, UK. To capture the bass heavy and gritty tone of Jamell’s voice we opted to use an SM7B broadcast style microphone and ran it through a Neve Preamp plugin and a classic LA-2A replication from Universal Audio. The recordings are provided as dry vocals (vocals with minimal processing and no fx), wet vocals (vocals featuring delay reverb and other classic vocal fx) and glitch vocals (vocals heavily modulated, retriggered and creatively mangled). The producer Iss 814 (born Ismaila Talla) used some of the raw material from those sessions recorded in Dakar last April to craft his own sounds. Late Nights: Trap RnB

For Splice Originals: Dark Cities, producer Ray Luminais looked to artists like NAV, Juice WRLD, and Jack Harlow for inspiration. Working out of The Plug Studios in Covington, LA, Ray resampled melodies he created through the Arturia V8 Collection, Korg Series Collection, and The Prince. He cooked up some essentials for your library: hypnotic song starters, plus catchy melodic and drum loops.To get the texture and saturation he was looking for in this pack, he used Cassette by Wavesfactory, Super VHS by Baby Audio, and Arturia Tape Mello-Fi. To get those hard-hitting 808s and drums just right, he employed a combination of KNOCK by DECAP, Cymatics' Diablo, and Sausage Fattener by Dada Life. Final loops and one-shots were processed through the Apollo x8 and Manley VOXBOX. Overall, this is one pack any creator would love to have in their arsenal.

For the Bautismo pack, producer Erick Bardales took inspiration from his previous Latin trap-style Splice pack, Comunion. He kept the dark vibes as a foundation, adding brighter and more textural sounds along with bouncier drums. For the melody loops, Bardales designed patches using a Moog Subsequent 37, Arturias Analog Lab, and an ANA 2 Sampler. Then he processed them heavily using a Chase Bliss Blooper FX pedal and Chase Bliss Generation Loss MKII, Output Thermal, Flex Beat by Akai, and other plugins. He employed the Izotope Transient Shaper to make the drums and 808s knock.
