Water
Get wet with this extensive collection of drips, splashes, plunges, and pours. We recorded this Splice Originals session in the studio and in the field. With a stereo hydrophone and an XY pair of Beyerdynamic MC930s, we meticulously captured countless permutations of water sounds in containers of varying sizes and materials. We then ventured outdoors with our field recorder and hydrophone to capture more plunges and splashes in a swimming pool, as well as ambiences of rain, creek, river, and sea.Using these sounds, we constructed a set of Beatmaker kits to get you up and running quickly in your sessions. We also included a set of Astra presets to complement your productions with one-shot chords, notes, and audio + MIDI loops inspired by French impressionist composers Debussy and Ravel, Japanese environmental composer Hiroshi Yoshimura, avant-garde composer William Basinski, and '90s R&B artists SWV and TLC. We hope you’ll use these sounds to expand the palette of your drum kit, create accent FX, or compose a score for those deep underwater dreams.

Air
When we make music, we weave patterns in the air around us. Pulsing along waves of molecules, we transmit a mysterious force that moves and inspires. With this pack, we asked: what is the musical essence of the air itself?Here you'll find a detailed set of one-shot samples made using compressed air and breath to shape textural and tonal sounds through glass, copper, bamboo, and various flutes. We also included drums and percussion made using various air-filled bags, balloons, and bubble wrap, all captured using Beyerdynamic microphones through Apogee converters.To complement these sounds, we designed a new batch of Astra presets alongside MIDI and audio loops that explore the noisier side of ambient R&B, as well as a new set of Beatmaker presets. The 25 included compositions are complemented by electric guitar, voice, and manipulated re-samplings of our extensive in-house Splice multi-sampler instrument library.Produced by Ben Bromley.

Written by Gavin Turek and Chris Hartz and produced and performed by Hartz, Splice Originals: Technicolor Soul was made from the session files for Gavin Turek’s new record. Recorded and performed at Sunset Sound Studio in Los Angels, CA, this pack is brimming with guitars, organs, synths, huge drums, choir, slapping bass lines, winds, and horns. It offers dynamic soul sounds with tinges of lo-fi hip hop, chillwave, pop, and gospel. Hartz has produced and performed as a member of Childish Gambino and Passion Pit. He also makes music for the TV show, Happy Endings and produces, arranges, and performs music for Cirque du Soleil. As a producer, he collaborated closely with fellow LA-native Gavin Turek on her latest album. A professionally trained dancer and child of two musician parents, Gavin Turek has drawn comparisons anywhere from Tina Turner to Beyoncé, but has made her mark as a force of her own, signature style.

It reached number two on the UK Singles Chart upon release, and was eventually nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording. In the 70’s, roots reggae artists sang songs of black pride, spirituality, resistance, and resilience behind sound beds of booming bass, steady drums, and blaring organs on analog tape. With “Liberation”, we carefully and meticulously took the time to recreate this process step by step, down to running each and every stem through a 24-track Studer A-827. This pack was created by producer Matthew Smythe playing organ, piano, wurlitzer, melodica and trombone, Keith “Kikah” Jackson playing drums and percussion, Nick Braham on electric bass and saxophone, and John Smythe on guitar/mixing and mastering. Engineered by Oliver Straus at Mission Sound in Brooklyn NY and Justin Miller at Milkboy the Studio in Philadelphia, PA.

Best known for producing Tyla's Grammy Award-winning single "Getting Late", this pack was crafted by 25-year-old Zimbabwean-born producer Kooldrink, also known as the founder of Pop-Piano and for his work with Diplo, Masego, Heavy-K, and more.
Organic Percussion Elements
Performed by world-class session musician Chris Wells, this extensive percussion loops pack covers a huge amount of ground. From classic soft shakers to the rhythmically complex and inspired Cajon loops, each sample just oozes class. When creating percussion patterns the opportunity to develop your ideas and layer sounds can be integral. With this in mind, we've included a combination of rhythmically simple loops that once placed against other samples become complex and interwoven. It's these small beat divisions that lift your drums from the mundane to the inspired, showcasing new levels of swing and groove that can so often be lacking in programmed material. Continuing this mantra of initial simplicity, you'll find 5 tempos ranging from 60-120 bpm, meaning double-time options as well as preventing too much warping has been covered.
