In Orbit, a Jukaa moment

Jukaa is a fresh name and approach for a veteran Dutch producer. With 10 years of expertise under his belt as Ecepta and in the DnB duo The Outsiders, garnering support from scene legends like Noisia, the Jukaa project emerged from a newfound love for cute, charming, pop flavors while staying true to his roots in sweaty club material. Kickstarted by a string of now-legendary pop bootlegs and evolving into wholly original music, the Jukaa project is only just beginning to explore this marriage of dark and light.

‘In Orbit’ is all about this duality: an oscillation between the sounds of day and night, cycling through natural worlds of shimmery synths and the darker beats of club-level chaos. Sweet, charming melodies, synthesized yet human textures, and warm, cozy tones contrast with the chops of a veteran club edit producer: drum grooves from UKG to dubstep, deep rolling basses, and crisp laser zaps, merging the technical skills of modern dance production with a strong pop sensibility.

“I’ve been thinking a lot about how many different types of ‘cycles’ are always going on and how they influence my creativity and tastes,” Jukaa tells us about the idea behind the pack title.

“There are external cycles, like day & night, seasonal shifts and trend cycles, as well as internal cycles like phases of motivation and stagnation. Instead of fighting these in pursuit of consistency, I started embracing them and seeing the beauty in that natural movement of things, and how it shapes and feeds my creative flow.”
