Many rock bands in the 1980s got their start on punk rock. As these musicians became more adventurous, they created a new genre known as post-punk. Since then, many new artists such as Molchat Doma, The Drums, Eyedress, The Killers, Lebanon Hanover, and many more have taken elements from the post-punk originators to create their own version of the genre.
