Lush Dancehall feat. Patexx
We partnered with Patexx for a deep dive into modern dancehall—an influential genre of Jamaican pop music originating in the late 1970s. Its name is owed to the spaces where popular Jamaican recordings were aired by local sound systems. Initially, the genre was a more sparse version of reggae than the roots style, which dominated much of the 1970s. In the mid-1980s, however, digital instrumentation became more prevalent, changing the sound considerably and becoming increasingly characterized by faster rhythms. In many ways, dancehall was the mother of hip hop with the vocals sung in a rap-like fashion. But modern dancehall evolved in a way that the vocal leads are more melodic. This pack pays homage to old school dancehall artists such as Bounty Killer, Shabba Ranks, Capleton, Beenie Man, and Yellow Man but also the modern melodic interpretation like Koffee, Busy Signal, Shenseea, and Popcaan. The producers of this pack took their time to ensure there was an eclectic mixture of pragmatic producer tools. This fact especially shines true when listening to all the sounds stashed in the music loops folder. The sounds range from late night champagne pianos, synth plucks that are dying to be paired with original vocals, lush square wave chords, detuned dark ambiences, smooth electric guitar licks, heavily process and chopped top-line vocals, electric bass grooves and beefy 808s that will rattle your whole house. Apart from this diverse and all encompassing set of loops, the music folder also contains a set of song starters that are a great way to find a bit of inspiration or direction when you find yourself in a creative rut. There is also a highly convenient folder of music one shots filled with 808 hits and vocal chops. These are a great tool when trying to invent your own melodies. Neo Tropical
Conjuring the warmth of the sun and the salt of the sea, this release wants you to imagine island hopping in the Caribbean. To listen to each sound is to experience a different aspect of Caribbean culture. All about a good time, it draws influences from dancehall, reggae, Afro-Cuban, soca, exotica, Hawaiian music, calypso, Afrobeat, and reggaeton. Recorded in the Splice room of Sound Factory LA, this pack explores the darker, moodier edges of Caribbean music while maintaining the energetic integrity of dancehall and Afrobeat rhythms.
Tropica Noir
Pulling inspiration from artists like J Balvin, Drake, Major Lazer, and Bad Bunny, Splice Originals: Tropica Noir explores the darker side of pop and trap melodies combined with tropical and Latin rhythms and instruments. This pack has everything from underwater vocals to aggressive club leads. This pack was created to inject the lively, energetic stylings of Latin and Caribbean genres like cumbia and dance hall into trap and hip hop productions. It utilizes winding sound design and mesmerizing synths with live trumpets, 808s, guitars, a DW drum kit, a Yamaha C7 grand piano, and a large variety of percussion from trap snares to conga and dunbek.
Classic Riddims: 80's Dancehall
In the early 80’s, the popular genre of Dancehall music emerged onto the Jamaican music scene, as deejays would take popular songs from the 60’s, and recycle them while adding drum beat from a machine. “Classic Riddims” follows this recipe to the tee, with 15 expertly crafted Melodic Loops featuring huge bass, chopping guitar and piano, and bubbling organs. In addition, “Classic Riddims” boasts over 120 one-shots with echo and plate reverb effects for the real dub sound. There are also 15 Drum Loops (in 3 varieties, totaling 45 total drum loops!) programmed on a 1986 Yamaha RX-7, recorded through an award winning analog chain of a 1073-style preamp, 1176 compressor, LA-2A compressor, and Pultec EQ. This pack also features over 30 one-shots from the vintage machine for your own custom drum loops.

Since 2010, the Copenhagen-based producer has released many tracks and remixes, expanding from the Danish club scene to an international audience.
