ENEI - Sample Pack Vol. 1
Test Press proudly presents another artist pack by ENEI, a figure who has significantly shaped the Drum and Bass scene with his unique sound and style.ENEI delivered a selection of high-quality samples and presets for Serum and Vital.ENEI's musical journey began in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 2003. A young Alexey Egorchenkov, with a growing fascination for Drum and Bass, started experimenting with his own production and DJing. As he adopted the artist name ENEI, his career started to flourish, earning him a star status in Russia and beyond. However, it was in 2007 that his career truly took off.ENEI's journey to success continued as he earned his first official release on the Dutch label Fokuz. This was just the beginning, as others began to drop on other imprints such as Blu Saphir, Cyanide and Citrus throughout 2008 and 2009. His productions and profile began to take shape, catching the attention of a particular eagle-eyed label boss, renowned for his supreme A&R'ing. It wasn't long before the phone call from Critical Music bossman, Kasra, who secured the first ENEI release on Critical at the end of 2010. This was a significant milestone in ENEI's career, leading to his exclusive signing with Critical in 2011.

The remix came out on the legendary "London Recordings".Constant research on sound leads HLZ's distinctive music, where a strong contrast between light and dark is always present. His ability to fully immerse himself into any number of styles is second to none.HLZ Notes:I admit it wasn't easy to do this sample pack! But, being a perfectionist, I wanted to be sure that the samples were up to a certain standard. The only way to know if I was doing this right was to be inspired by these samples and make sure that they could be something I could use in my day-to-day workflow, and I'm pleased with the final result. On top of that, I'm a synth guy, so you can expect to find sounds I created using legendary synths like Andromeda A6, Oscar, and Pro one and modern classics like Moog Matriarch, Pro 2, Prophet 6 and more. The pack is musical but also aggressive. It is funk but also melancholy. It reflects my vibe and emotions while I'm writing music, and I hope it will inspire you as much as it inspires me.

TeeBee – Subterranean DnB Vol. 2
D&B legend TeeBee drops his 'Subterranean Drum & Bass' series's second installment Subterranean Drum & Bass Vol.2. Torgeir Byrknes, better known by his stage name Teebee, is a Norwegian DJ and drum and bass producer. He also runs the record label Subtitles Recordings. TeeBee began DJing in 1990 and released his first record in 1996. He won the Knowledge Magazine award for Best International Producer in 2001. TeeBee's music is characterized by an intense dark and futuristic science-fiction influence. TeeBee material could be classed as Neurofunk or techstep, although possessing a deeper ambient and atmospheric quality than much of this subgenre. His early work, in particular, owes an acknowledged stylistic debt to Photek, and he was initially primarily associated with the Certificate 18 record label, alongside Photek, Klute and fellow Norwegian Polar. Following the folding of Cert 18 to enable the owner to release other music genres, he, along with Polar, created the label Subtitles. TeeBee joined forces with Calyx, self-releasing their first joint album 'Anatomy' to critical acclaim in 2007. In 2012 the duo signed exclusively to Andy C's Ram Records, releasing 'All or Nothing', a multi-award winning album that has propelled them to elite status within the electronic music world. The collection comes jam-packed with loops and one-shots. Introducing Neuro Bass Volume 1! This is a pack of over 1000 samples with a focus on “neuro” and “neurofunk” sensibilities, yet they work nicely in any genre. “The idea with this pack was to share the results of our processing skills when it came to bass sound-design” says Gigantor. “A lot of hardware was used in the creation of these sounds: we wanted to go beyond the typical bass samples you might buy in your average pack, as we've been frustrated seeing the market flooded by samples that sound straight out of the software synth that created them. We wanted to offer our customers something different, so we came up with the concept of doing this pack.” In the process quite a bit of classic gear was used, including classic vintage drum machines for bass tones. Gigantor also re-acquired a small format mixing console legendary in drum and bass' golden era, known for it's analog idiosyncrasies, especially when it came to bass design. DnB Textures
D&B Textures is a deep dive into the sounds of melodic, organic, and atmospheric Drum & Bass and includes live-recorded drum breaks, smooth, organic pads, evocative ambiences, weighty basslines, music kits for inspiration, keys and synth loops, tempo-synced FX, and a wide range of one-shot samples of basses, drums and percussion, FX, and synths. A variety of vintage and modern studio gear is used to steer clear of the artificially clean sound sometimes associated with "in the box" productions. Grooves played on a live drum kit were sampled, chopped, and pitched in an Akai S3000 for that classic tone software samplers can't match. A Novation Bass Station 2 alongside synthesiser-like EMU and Yamaha samplers provided speaker-shaking bass. And what better machine to provide truly D&B sounding pads than a custom programmed Roland JV-2080? Each sound was processed through a golden-era Studiomaster analogue desk, gracing the waveforms with its thick preamp tone and excellent EQ before being captured by a mastering grade Metric Halo 3D audio interface. Also used were hardware Oakley-Moog filters and a tape deck. While the focus is primarily on the melodic end of the Drum & Bass spectrum, this pack is beneficial to everyone who likes a bit of character in their productions.
