Vinyl Drums From Mars

Vinyl Drums From Mars is a collection of acoustic drum and percussion hits created from scratch, cut to vinyl, and sampled. We recorded our vintage 1960s Rogers kit with an assortment of snares, cymbals and percussion - using a combination of vintage and modern microphones, through a 1608 console and tube preamps direct to two different 2-track tape machines.

These sounds were then cut to vinyl and sampled in pristine quality fresh off the lathe at the mastering studio. We then sampled the record at our studio with a combination of different needles, turntables, play speeds, phono preamps, and outboard gear. We made sure to also degrade the vinyl both by letting it play over time, as well as by scratching, scuffing and otherwise messing it up to get the punchiest and dirtiest vinyl drums imaginable! 

This pack contains everything from clean, dead and dry, classic vinyl drums, to dusty and degraded, dirty and effected, re-pitched, unexpected and modern sounds. We’ve organised these samples into 20 super playable drum kits over a range of sound, genre, and aesthetic, as well as included 278 of our favourite additional miscellaneous vinyl drum one shots from these sessions.
