Cory Wong - Fourth Position Funk Pack offers a collection of guitar licks, lush leads, multi-layered melodic stacks, funked out basslines, one-shots and creative fx crafted and curated by guitarist, songwriter, producer, and Vulfpeck member, Cory Wong. With hundreds of guitar and bass loops & one-shots, each sound has been meticulously recorded, mixed, and designed, offering a treasure trove of strung out samples catered for funk, r&b, soul and beyond with the Cory Wong stamp of approval. These samples were recorded at the Essential Sessions Studios and Pachyderm Studios in Minnesota with a 48 Channel API Discrete Console. At the heart of the production process is the use of the Neural DSP Archetype Cory Wong plugin and the Goodhertz Vulf compressor for unparalleled quality and sonics only found in this collection Straight out of Minneapolis, Cory positioned himself as music’s answer to motivational speakers like Tony Robbins since emerging in 2011. Head-spinning rhythm guitar wizardry, technical ebullience, laugh-out-loud jokes, and radiance on stage established him as both a sought-after collaborator and celebrated solo artist alike. After an impromptu meeting at the weekly jam hosted by Prince’s rhythm section (where the Purple One often either performed or watched), he crossed paths with Vulfpeck who welcomed him as a frequent collaborator and member of the band. Solidifying a fruitful partnership, the group named their most popular instrumental track “Cory Wong,” in tribute. Lighting up the stage in the band everywhere from Red Rocks Amphitheatre to Madison Square Garden, he remains a cornerstone of Vulfpeck’s storied gigs

Having played with the likes of Amy Winehouse, Jamie Cullum and Paulo Nutini, Brad Webb is one of the UK’s most formidable jazz and pop drummers. We were absolutely delighted to team up with Brad to create a brand new jazz collection based around accessible jazz grooves that will perfectly slot into any session. Taking inspiration from drummers such as Brian Blade, Elvin Jones & Ed Thigpen and with a range of tempos from 80-151bpm the Brad Webb Jazz Grooves album has something to suit everyone. Brad used his beautiful 1960s Gretsch Round Badge kit with a selection of vintage cymbals, all recorded to the highest possible standard at London’s Livingston Studios, which has played host to some incredible jazz sessions in recent years including Ezra Collective, Kokoroko and Sons of Kemet, while Livingston regular Luke Farnell was on engineering duties.

Noise Requiem, a KAVARI moment
KAVARI is an artist, producer, and DJ based in Glasgow, Scotland, known for her high-contrast productions and performances that fuse industrial, ambient, club, and pop into her own twisted sound. She received a nomination for 'Best Electronic' Artist at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards in 2021 and has performed at some of the most popular venues across the country, earning a reputation as one of the Scottish underground music scene’s rising stars.‘Noise Requiem’ is an invitation into KAVARI’s distinctive realm of sound, a realm best described in the artist’s own words, which we found engraved on a mossy headstone:“I like my sounds to come across like they have a setting. A bass being played from a blown out broken speaker in the basement of an abandoned mansion, a pad that's coming from an instrument that belonged to a long lost forest dwelling civilisation made from an unknown material that enchants the listener, percussion that sounds like the guttural roar of a folklore-esque creature that lurks the wildness in the dead of night. Haunting, heavy, broken, blissful, unsettling, but also with an odd sense of comfort. I wanted this pack to be a bundle of these imaginary settings. A requiem for sonic corruption in its rawest form.”

Characterized by a fusion of deep house, jazz, Kwaito, and Afrobeat elements, “Amapiano” loosely translates to “the pianos” in Zulu. This pack contains a lot of the shaker and log drum sounds used to craft the Zulu rhythms known to Amapiano music with some added melodic elements that push it towards Afrobeats styles from Nigeria and Senegal.

MPCs From Mars
These three MPCs represent the history of the iconic sampler so well, we’ve combined them into one super pack! As well as making music production accessible to a new generation of producers and musicians, their classic conversion make for some of the punchiest and grittiest drum sounds of all time. The MPC 60 is one of the best sounding samplers ever, and has shaped the sound of classic 90s hip hop, R&B and house music with its unmistakeable grit, warmth and punch. The drums are fat, thick and analog sounding, full of 12bit artifacts and noise that sound beautiful when tidied up a little with filters.The MPC 3000 debuted in 1994 during the golden age of hip hop. It expanded on the MPC 60 most notably with stereo, 16 bit sampling, a delay, and an excellent sounding filter with brilliant resonance and envelope modulation. Together with its signature sequencer groove and clip-able input, this made the MPC 3000 perfect for early 90s drum shaping, and became a genre-defining staple for the top producers of the genre and independent artists alike. The MPC 2000 XL is legendary in its own right. These drum samples have been filtered, clipped and edited in the MPC, as well as processed to perfection with external hardware. This pack contains WAV files organised into 46 kits - 20 from the MPC 60, 20 from the MPC 3000, and 6 from the MPC 2000XL - for a total of 754 samples.
Senegalese Serum with Wagane Faye
Wagane Faye—a prominent keyboardist for many of Dakar’s mbalax and Afrobeat bands—joined us at Laboutique Studios Dakar to record ample MIDI in the styles of mbalax, Afrobeat, dancehall, Afroswing, and Afropop. We then cut those MIDI performances into loops and made corresponding Serum presets for each. These presets focus on the sounds of West Africa. You'll find fula flutes, ngoni, kora, marimba, balafon, kalimba, percussion, plus synths, organs, and bass sounds.

Dollar Bin: Resampled Soul
The Splice Originals crew teamed up with Jason Matthews on keys and Justin Andres on guitar to create a foundation of songs primed to be chopped, twisted, and screwed. Matthews and Andres worked remotely off of each other’s ideas, swapping melodies and riffs back and forth until they had complete songs. We then resampled and reworked their files, just as if we had found them in the dollar vinyl bin. The result is a mix of dark funk, lo-fi hip hop, and cinematic soul thrown in the blender. In addition to the keys and guitars, you’ll find banging hip hop drums to make this a full-on toolkit for making low-key bangers.
Chamber Soul With Gabriel Royal
A classically trained musician, Gabriel Royal is among a select number of artists combining cello work with vocals. Nicky Paul, producer, composer, and keyboard player for the indie-electro band, St. Lucia laid down direct to tape sounds at Los Angeles’ legendary Sunset Sound Studios. This pack is an ode to the Sunset Blvd. studio’s iconic recordings from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Inspired by the recording process of that era and influenced by his jazz background, Paul captured a group of highly talented musicians all playing at once. The resulting songs are dripping in authenticity and warm, nostalgic quality. They were recorded on the same board and tape machine and in the same room and the same studio as records by The Rolling Stones, Whitney Houston, The Beach Boys, Miles Davis, Sly and the Family Stone, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, and so many others. We took these songs and chopped and processed them into ready-to-use samples. Similar to what you’d hear from modern bands like Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Tame Impala, these sounds are full of warmth, character, and distortion only found through tape machines.
