Magic Sword Sample Pack
Formed in 2013, Magic Sword are an American electronic trio from Boise, Idaho. They're known for wearing cloaks and masks during their performances and go by the names of The Keeper (red, keyboard, audio-visual), The Seer (blue, guitar), and The Weaver (yellow, drums). They released their debut full-length album titled Magic Sword Vol. 1 in 2013 on Tender Loving Empire along with a comic book with the same name. In 2016, they released their first EP on Size Records titled Legend and embarked on their first national headlining tour. Though genre-less, Magic Sword's sound can probably be best described as synthmetal, or perhaps epic sci-fi electro-pop. If you like ComicCon, you'll be into this pack. Neo Soul Vocals with The Love Experiment
This is the second release in a four-pack series with the neo soul group, The Love Experiment. Together, this series of packs tell the story of how soul music has shown up and evolved over the past several decades. For this vocal pack, Kim Mayo and Syl DuBenion channeled some serious Billie Holliday and Donny Hathaway vibes. They improvised all of their melodies through a stream of consciousness during their band’s studio session. We took these raw performances and used Vocalsynth, Antares Harmony Engine, and other effects to make these samples at home in any modern R&B or neo soul track.

Can we just agree the '90s were awesome? A glorious time when everything was better either baggy, backward, or bathed in neon (or all three). More impressive than the iconic trends and fads were, of course, the music. The '90s were truly a beautiful time for hip hop, R&B, soul, pop, and dance — with more classics than we can count in a single conversation. Blood of Aza is a leftfield producer and DJ based in London who’s risen to cult status in the post-club scene over the past few years through a series of wave-making singles and gut renovations of pop tracks pushed beyond recognition, garnering support from pioneers like Aphex Twin and labels such as Soul Feeder and Safe Cloud Records. Her latest release ‘EMBER’ once again challenges the expected format as an album-length all-original mix.‘#880808’ captures a slice of that same speaker tearing sound design of Blood of Aza’s blood red world. Drenched in distortion, resonant implosions and soul-crushing bass damage meet moments of pensive ambience amidst the wreckage. While sorted into kicks, snares, loops, and so on, the sounds often refuse singular definitions and become interchangeable texture ammunition: snares full of sub and basses bordering on harsh noise, all heavily compressed never to dip below the maximum volume. “███████████ ███████ █████“, Aza told us about the process behind the pack. “██████ ████████████ ███████ ███████████████████.” We’d like to remind readers that our creators' views are wholly their own and not necessarily shared by Moment’s editorial staff.
Senegalese Dub
Produced by Pape Armand Boye at La Boutique Studios in Dakar, this pack brings together some of the top African reggae and dub players to showcase the Senegalese spin on the genre. Processed through Roland Space Echos and other classic boxes, this pack gets close to the classic ‘70s sound of early dub music by Osbourne "King Tubby" Ruddock, Lee "Scratch" Perry, and Errol Thompson. These sounds are raw material primed to be spun together into a kaleidoscope of psychedelic, spacey songs. Or, used as a subtle hint, a nod to those who provided us with the rhythms and methods that influenced so much popular music today.
