TeeBee – Subterranean DnB Vol. 2
D&B legend TeeBee drops his 'Subterranean Drum & Bass' series's second installment Subterranean Drum & Bass Vol.2. Torgeir Byrknes, better known by his stage name Teebee, is a Norwegian DJ and drum and bass producer. He also runs the record label Subtitles Recordings. TeeBee began DJing in 1990 and released his first record in 1996. He won the Knowledge Magazine award for Best International Producer in 2001. TeeBee's music is characterized by an intense dark and futuristic science-fiction influence. TeeBee material could be classed as Neurofunk or techstep, although possessing a deeper ambient and atmospheric quality than much of this subgenre. His early work, in particular, owes an acknowledged stylistic debt to Photek, and he was initially primarily associated with the Certificate 18 record label, alongside Photek, Klute and fellow Norwegian Polar. Following the folding of Cert 18 to enable the owner to release other music genres, he, along with Polar, created the label Subtitles. TeeBee joined forces with Calyx, self-releasing their first joint album 'Anatomy' to critical acclaim in 2007. In 2012 the duo signed exclusively to Andy C's Ram Records, releasing 'All or Nothing', a multi-award winning album that has propelled them to elite status within the electronic music world. The collection comes jam-packed with loops and one-shots. Contemporary Minimalism: Keys & Bells
Contemporary Minimalism: Keys & Bells is a concept pack from pianist and producer Todd Brozman (Proud Creature, Moon Casual). From a simple theme, this pack explores a wide array of sounds and directions. Instrumentally, “Keys & Bells” is broadly interpreted to include not only acoustic pianos and bells of different varieties, but also electric pianos, vibraphone, glockenspiel, singing bowls, and other instruments. At its core, these instruments all involve the percussive striking of tuned metallic surfaces and strings. This commonality provides a cohesive sound to an otherwise diverse collection of instruments. Stylistically, this pack ventures into sonic realms that float between genres and easy categorization. From classical, to jazz-informed, to nostalgic, arcane, and ambient, these loops and one-shots can be used to explore new territory or be incorporated into tracks of all genres for added color. Many samples have a dry, intimate, and transparent sound; others have been warped, washed, and processed for a more expansive, abstracted quality. Many of the pack’s loops were composed alongside each other and all samples in the pack belong to complimentary keys, allowing for seamless layering. However one goes about approaching these minimalist tones, they’re bound to achieve interesting results.

Live Hip Hop Drums
Live Hip Hop Drums is a collection of down-tempo grooves between 80 and 100 BPM performed live on drum set and percussion by Charles Van Kirk. The grooves are inspired by Motown’s influence on hip hop and were recorded with a combination of Coles ribbon microphones, Telefunken tube microphones and class A preamps. Each sound is presented with two different versions of processing: one clean and one "crunchy" to mimic a vintage lo-fi sound. Notably, each loop has a corresponding layer of auxiliary percussion composed of shakers, tambourines and drum rims that can be mixed in separately to add texture and motion.

Somewhere in the lost lands between post-vaporwave and YouTube poop sits the unadulterated sincerity of trndytrndy. A sound spanning many internet scenes, genres, and aesthetics, they have been sharing music on Soundcloud since 2016, previously under the names Cube Panda and Ringtail. They’re known in the hyperpop world for collaborations like ‘1’ with Petal Supply, umru, and Himera (which landed them in NPR’s Best Music of 2021) and remixes for artists like That Kid but these hardly scratch the surface of their expansive musical range.‘missing texture’ collects the best of the best: a culmination of many styles and the latent space between files. Experimental electronic artist Stephen (aka Stephen Swartz) explores a deeply layered resonance propelled by societal issues and personal perception of modern culture. In 2016, the LA-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist released his debut LP, Sincerely that garnered critical praise from outlets such as TIME, Billboard, VICE, FADER, and Independent. This set things in motion for Stephen’s wide-ranging vision for global and political change through a penchant for numerous genres, thematic narratives, and a profound intimacy often absent within modern electronic music. After touring behind the triumph of Sincerely, Stephen suddenly had to take a break from music. In 2017, he was stricken with Lyme disease that set him back a year as he went through a massive crisis of life-changing experiences. After returning in early 2019 with the release of his EP, It's Too Much Love To Know My Dear, Stephen bought a one-way ticket to Thailand to reconnect with himself. For a moment he lost himself, wrapped up in the beauty of the unknown, and returning with inspiration to travel down another road. Now in 2020, Stephen is ready to shed old skin and connect with people beyond the power of just music. Jazz Guitar Hangs with Rotem Sivan
Recorded at the Splice studio in New York City, Jazz Guitar Hangs is a collection of guitar and MIDI melodies and chord progressions composed and performed by Brooklyn-based guitar virtuoso Rotem Sivan. We tracked pristine D’Angelico instruments through Rotem’s personal pedalboard and our analog signal chain. We simultaneously captured the performances as MIDI using Fishman TriplePlay MIDI pickups. Then, we used Serum to design preset patches around each sample. The result is a collection of Rotem’s delicious melodies, tasty basslines, and ear-catching chords, served up in audio, MIDI, and Serum preset formats. Special thanks to Rotem Sivan, D’Angelico, and Fishman for partnering with Splice to create this sample pack.
