Gutta: Hard Trap
Inspiration for Splice Originals - Gutta: Hard Trap comes from the sounds of grimy street rap such as Lil Baby, EST Gee, and 42 Dugg. You’ll find lots of pianos chopped with Gross Beat from Fruity Loops and filtered to get that dark sound. Synths come from the Arturia V8 plugin using heavy saturation. We brought in strings and brass with the new Triton Extreme plugin. Other strings, plucks, and choirs came from the Mellotron with tons of filtering, chopping, and reverb to get that haunting vibe. You can’t have grime without that bounce. Drums are hard-hitting with kicks, snares, and 808s rounding out this pack and bringing it alive. In addition to the gear listed above, we also employed a Yamaha Arius YDP-184 Piano, Mini Moog, WA-57 Microphone, Splice Beat Maker, Shaperbox 2, Sausage Fattener, Wires by Audio Things, and RC-20.
Black Milk: Drum-Vault Sample Pack
With more than a decade and a half of industry experience and a rich catalog of recordings, Black Milk has successfully transitioned from one of hip hop’s young sensations to a trusted virtuoso with a uniquely well-rounded pedigree as a producer, rapper, and performer. His latest EP, DiVE, released in 2019, is some of his most inventive work featuring "a deep decent into mellow grooves, soothing rhythms, and swaying melodies" (exclaim.ca). You'll find similar soothing sounds perfect for any chill hop, hip hop, trip hop, or rap production in this pack. In addition to five solo rap albums and one instrumental, Black Milk has collaborated with Danny Brown, Guilty Simpson, Sean Price, and Jack White. ianhitsdrums 'Breakbeat Science'
ianhitsdrums debuts on Splice with his modern take on the classic breakbeats that created one of the world's most loved music genres, Jungle music. Ian captures the grooves and nuances of breakbeats such as the Think, Amen, Hot Pants, Soulpride, Funkymule, and Apache breaks and includes a selection of drum-step, hard-step, tech-step, percussion and cymbal loops, and one-shots.Jungle is a genre of dance music that developed out of the UK rave scene and sound system culture in the 1990s—emerging from breakbeat hardcore, the style characterised by rapid breakbeats, heavily syncopated percussive loops, samples, and synthesised effects, combined with the deep basslines, melodies, and vocal samples found in dub, reggae and dancehall, as well as hip hop and funk. Many producers frequently sampled the "Amen Break" or other breakbeats from funk and jazz recordings. Jungle was a direct precursor to the drum and bass genre, which emerged in the mid-1990s.The drums in this pack can also be used for other music genres, such as Dubstep, Breakbeat, certain styles of House, and other forms of Bass Music.
Vinyl Drum Machines From Mars
Vinyl Drum Machines is a royalty free pack of 40 drum machines pressed to vinyl, and sampled. We selected our favorite machines (no samplers here; only machines with factory sounds), from classics to rarities, vintage to modern, and everything in between, and sampled them cleanly, and with processing. Then, we pressed the results to vinyl, transcribing the record cleanly, but also physically damaging the record and sampling the results with a multitude of cartridges, phono stages and turntables. Four vintage drum kits were recorded for this special collection of drum loops and one shots, one from each decade of the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. These old drums kits, played and recorded by Shahar Haziza, include vintage Slingerland, Gretsch and Leedy drums and were recored through vintage ribbon mics and preamps. droplets, a demotapes moment
demotapes is San Francisco-based producer and artist Parker Livingston. We call him the king of the tiny snare, but you may know him for many things: he is a vessel of inspiration on producer-tok and has released a handful of sample packs, with his indie-pop duo Cassette Tapes as well as under his own imprint “soundblocks.” He is also fresh off the release of his debut EP, “with friends”, all made over a series of discord calls with friends over the last year. ‘droplets’ is the result of hundreds of hours of sound design and composition. “It's no doubt my favorite pack I've ever made,” Parker tells us. A large focus has been put on tonal content, boasting 83 highly detailed song-starters, as well as plentiful tonal textures which serve as pedal tones and ambient drones that layer with just about anything. And of course it wouldn’t be a demotapes pack without his signature microscopic drums, available as hits, fills, and loops.Sitting bayside, we asked Parker about what ‘droplets’ means to him: “so much of the sound of my samples are influenced by living in San Francisco and being near water. Whether it’s layering foley sounds of the ocean, or making plucky synths that bend and stretch fluidly– those are the sounds that speak to me.”

Constellations: Cosmic Americana
Calling on the spirit of 1960s folk-revival protest music, 1970s-era outlaw country, and the deep-rooted influences of early American music, Splice Originals: Cosmic Americana captures a psychedelic and pop take on country music. With psychedelic, indie-folk, R&B, and lo-fi elements, these sounds are primed for cross-pollination with pop, hip hop, and electronic genres. Top players came together in Nashville to carefully record vintage instruments, collaborating with artists at various locations across the U.S. Producer, multi-instrumentalist, and sound designer, Ben Bromley produced this pack. He is the co-founder of NewVillager and has been a touring member of Santigold, Phosphorescent, and Fischerspooner. Other musicians who contributed to this pack include Will MacClean (Nashville, TN), Sam Kearney (Denver, CO), Travis Linville (Tulsa, OK), and Austin Beede (Santa Ynez, CA). You’ll find the sounds of a grand piano, pedal steel, mountain dulcimer, Ludwig drums, electric and acoustic guitars, harmonica, and more.
