Bringing a human element into electronically produced music can really add a special quality and groove that is otherwise hard to obtain by sequencing samples. Tribal & African percussion features nearly 300 percussion loops & one shots, recorded live and played by a skilled percussionist. Layer these grooves into your tracks and watch them come alive, or slice up the rhythms to create entirely new grooves. One shots from all of the loops have been provided as well so if you prefer to sequence your own beats on an MPC, Maschine, or your own DAW then all the sounds are ready to go. TR 808 - The Drum Machine
Introduced by the Roland Corporation in early 1980, the TR-808 drum machine was released to the general public . What Roland didn't know was this iconic drum machine of the 80's would still be used in studios worldwide for the next 35 years and re-invent the sounds of multiple genres through the decades. It's claim to fame started with Hip Hop and the Electro sound from the US, then evolved through UK Dance music, popped it's head in every genre from Techno to Drum & Bass and now it's the main drum sound of Trap, there's no holding back this monster of a drum machine from now or the future. Authentic Roland TR-808's in perfect condition have become harder and harder to find year on year so here at Zenhiser we decided it was time to sample the hell out of a perfect condition TR 808, then run it through some awesome analogue gear and deliver a pinnacle pack of TR-808 drum sounds plus a superbly programmed array of drum loops that have spanned the 808 decades. Arthouse Acoustics proudly presents Soul Survivor, an ode to the soul samples that have forever shaped hip-hop history. This collection draws inspiration from the dusty crates of old vinyl stores and iconic samples that have influenced the genre. The pack features a curated collection of live instrument loops, nostalgic vocal hooks, and a resampled live vintage drum kit. Whether you're a vinyl junkie or a producer looking to infuse your beats with soulful vibes, this one's for you.The team drew from the rich history of soul music to compose, record, and produce original compositions that capture the soulful essence of the past. The team used vintage microphones and analog preamps to channel the warmth and character of the live instrumentation. Also included is a lovingly crafted collection of resampled and chopped track-ready hip-hop loops.
Japanese Shamisen and Vocals with Sumie Kaneko
As a follow up to her koto pack, Sumie Kaneko is sharing the sounds of the Japanese shamisen, along with a broad range of vocals. She started playing the three-string shamisen when she was 18 years old because the koto and shamisen are often played together in traditional form. For this pack, Kaneko tuned in Honchoshi, which is the traditional scale for the instrument. She crafted melodic patterns and improvised over them. Although she tuned for the traditional scale, she injected more groove and jazz rhythms to add an experimental flavor to this pack.
The Glow
The Glow is centered around the classic soul sounds that glittered and glowed, spiced up a notch through resampling. Producer Xan Young combined elements of classic 1970s soul with boom bap hip hop beats. He layed down guitar, Prophet 6, Arp Odyssey, Juno 60, Fender P Bass, piano, and vocals—each meticulously written and performed through Class-A 500 series preamps. Each instrument was then layered together, printed, and chopped up in much the same way someone would find a tasty segment from an old soul record and toss it in an MPC.
True Extravagance: Cinematic Soul
Soul Music on the big screen was a trend in the early 70's that evolved into a defining aesthetic and movement in the genre birthing the appropriate sub-genre category, "Cinematic Soul." True Extravagance is a special collection of royalty free cinematic soul inspired samples created by the Soul Surplus team. This release contains 15 melodic loops with over 100 individual instrument stems and over 200 one-shots clocking in at over a half of a gig in total files! Take advantage of having everything from warm vintage keyboard sounds, soulful bass and guitar tones, emotional symphonic string pads all paired with perfected corresponding drum loops for each composition! Aquatic Wildlife Processing, an underscores moment
While April Harper Grey has been producing music as underscores since middle school, steadily endearing a burgeoning community of fans and collaborators in online bass music circles, her 2021 sophomore album—and first foray into guitar—‘fishmonger’, cemented underscores as not only as the sine wave wunderkind of Soundcloud, but a fresh new voice in pop music, opening for 100 gecs’ tour later that year.We caught up with the six impala member in the Middle of Nowhere to chat about ‘Aquatic Wildlife Processing — Employee Onboarding Module, step 3: Familiarizing Oneself with AWP (required for all prospective slime-line workers, packers, and dock crew)’, the lengthy rejected title for their comprehensive production toolset melding together meticulously crafted dubstep growls, tearjerker emo guitar, punk rock drums, Skrillex-level vocal chops, and everything in between into one hyper-modern pop package.“Yeah, I was doing a photoshoot around [AWP’s] new location and they were like, ‘Oh my god, do you make hyperpop? you should come in and bang on our walls sometime and make a remix or something.’ Usually that kinda thing REALLY annoys me but they offered me a LOT of money,” underscores tells us.‘Aquatic Wildlife Processing’ can be found on market shelves starting today.
Paradise Found with The Splice Orchestra
Grab your sunscreen and pack your bags for the many pleasures of Paradise Found. Bask in the thick arrangements of sliding strings, washed-out woodwinds, drunken drums, sauntering synths, meandering marimbas and heavy harps, played in the lounge/exotica style perfected by Martin Denny, Arthur Lyman and Les Baxter. All instrumentation is provided by the 15-piece Splice orchestra, with arrangements by Ian McLellan Davis, who has worked with Daniel Rossen and Feist. Birdsong and the sounds of jungle wildlife inhabit these laid-back loops and one-shots, too, a hallmark of the lounge records from that era. We recorded everything live in one session on a beautiful API console at Rubber Tracks. These elements coalesce like a coconut cocktail to make Paradise Found a vacation with adjustable volume. DEAD
Recorded in a tiny room, using minimal mics and all analog outboard gear, we collected some of the absolute tightest sounding drum samples and loops. Dead, dry drums are hard to come by these days. Over-processed and verbed out sounds have plagued every corner of the sample world. We wanted to design an entire library of real, raw drum samples and loops that allowed music makers to process, verb, compress and destroy these samples in every which way.
Grind - Speed Garage
Oh yeah, things just got tasty for Speed Garage, UK Garage and House producers. It’s been a long time waiting, but you know Zenhiser delivers the goods. ‘Grind’ clocks in at 2GB of content, and it’s spicy! Capsun x Julez Jadon: On The Run - Mallorca
One week on an island, two of the most recognised names in sample creation, one unique project. ‘On the Run - Mallorca’ is a creative collaboration between boutique sound design teams Capsun ProAudio and Julez Jadon & SVRN. This collection encapsulates the signature sounds of both camps infused with the vibes of poolside beats, pink sunsets and late night beat making sessions. Expect sculpted, hard hitting drums and percussion, acoustic guitars, nature sounds and a full stack of original melodies and songstarters. We searched for a unique location to share our experiences and experiment with sound whilst soaking in the vibes of our surroundings. Continuing in the tradition of Julez & SVRN’s acclaimed ‘Producers On The Run’ series. Mallorca would provide the backdrop, one of Spain’s Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean. We found we both have shared family history going back to the 1960s and it is a beautiful, inspiring location with dramatic mountains, blue seas and dense nature. We found a traditional country house and both teams, including Capsun, Julez Jadon, SVRN, Yvng Face and Matt Borzoni, travelled from Germany and the UK. Every sound and sample has been created, recorded and designed on location. Expect to find experimental vocals, ambient lush chords, re-sampled compositions and cosy plucked acoustic guitars. We explored the island with our Zoom recorder, capturing natural ambience and foley including cicadas at night, church bells in small villages and the rustle of wind in the trees. Drums and percussion were created with everything from metal farm equipment, ice cubes, fire wood and kitchen utensils! All sounds are 100% royalty-free and designed to push the boundaries of Modern Hip-Hop, Trap & Rap production. Every loop has been meticulously key tagged and tempo-synced.
Afro Cuban Percussion with Elizabeth Pupo Walker
This is the first in a series of sessions we recorded at Red Bull Studios NYC. Afro Cuban percussion provides some of the most emotive and dynamic sounds known. The way intricate grooves and upbeat dance rhythms meld and blend through its signature polyrhythmic drumming will get anyone on the dancefloor. Renowned Afro Cuban percussionist Elizabeth Pupo Walker shared her talents, history, and passions for the genre in crafting this pack. Dig into congas, bongos, cahon, and other Afro Cuban percussion one-shots and loops. Pupo Walker studied in Havana, Cuba at Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba and in Matanzas, Cuba with the world-renown percussion ensemble Los Munequitos de Matanzas. She has sought out specific instructors throughout her career, delving into the drumming dialects of Brazilian Batucada and Carribean rhythms of the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and more. She formed the eclectic percussive jazz group, Manah in Seattle; recorded and toured with the band BRAD, featuring members of Pearl Jam; and performed regularly with Reggie Watts. She’s been featured in DRUM! Magazine, toured internationally, and has performed and recorded with a wide variety of artists including Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, John Legend, Mark Ronson, Dr. Lonnie Smith, TV On the Radio, The Roots, Nels Cline, Meshell Ndegeocello, Lee Fields and The Expressions, Mavis Staples, among several others.
