Churches would gather together and visit each other on different nights making it a celebration that is second to none. umru - sound cache vol 3
Brooklyn-based 22-year-old musician umru returns with the third installment of the sounds cache series. umru emerged into the pop music zeitgeist with his first production credit on Charli XCX's 2017 mixtape Pop 2, recruited at 18 by A. G. Cook to co-produce the highlight track "I Got It". This quickly brought umru from high school and online music circles to joining XCX's US and EU tour dates and collaborating with some of pop's most forward-thinking acts. The release of his debut EP "search result" on Cook’s PC Music label revealed his strength in merging intense, somatosnareal production with earwormesque performances from a lineup of protohyperpopular vocal talent including Laura Les (of 100 gecs) and Lewis Grant. umru’s sound cache sample pack has become a staple among modern producers. His most recent work includes production for Dorian Electra, Rebecca Black, Tommy Cash, and Fraxiom, as well as scoring for artist Hayden Dunham‘s performance at MoMA PS1. Though umru started out in Soundcloud's beat and bass music scenes where he was making "producer music" that focused on sound design rather than songwriting, he has settled into the producer role. Today, he focuses most of his releases on collaborations with vocalists. He shared, "Most of the material for my packs comes straight out of projects I've started—I do a lot of sound design in the process of writing or producing rather than sitting down to separately make samples, and I think that ends up being the best material that I already know can be used in the context of a song. Of course, I have hours of totally random harsh noise sound design as well, but I'll even try to shape those into specific uses like risers or impacts. Krewella: Sample Pack Vol. 1
Krewella is a pioneering dance music duo formed in 2007 in Chicago by sisters Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf. One of the most successful electronic acts of the past decade, Krewella first made an impact with their self-released chart-topping debut EP ‘Play Hard’ (2012), featuring the breakthrough single “Killin’ It.” Their 2013 era-defining debut album, ‘Get Wet,’ featured the platinum-selling “Alive,” a Top 40 hit in the U.S. In June 2017, Krewella launched their own Mixed Kids Records label, named after their multiracial background, which initiated their next creative phase. Krewella’s new sound sees the duo experimenting with a wider range of styles—trap, Bollywood, pop, R&B—and exploring deeper themes of mixed ethnic identity, liberated sexuality, and creative experimentation. On their 2020 album, zer0 (Mixed Kids Records), Krewella further developed their intricate songwriting and production styles while deepening their independent spirit and worldly approach to art. As the culmination of the duo's more than a decade-long career at the forefront of electronic music, zer0 tackles real-life social issues and features global collaborators like Indian electronic producer Nucleya, Pakistani singer-songwriter Asim Azhar, and others. In their debut Splice pack, find a unique range of their original sounds including chants, melodies, pads, chops, rhythms, and more.

Resampled Cinematic Soul
This Splice Originals release was created in collaboration with multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and music producer Stuart Bogie on winds. With an eye on the cinematic orchestral styles of jazz and soul from the ‘60s and ‘70s, this pack contains strings, saxophones, flutes, electric piano, piano, guitar, harp, vocals, and Hammond organ. We pulled influence from Philadelphia orchestral soul acts like the O'Jays and Billy Paul crossed with soul-jazz acts like Lonnie Liston Smith and Roy Ayers. There’s also a heavy dose of Henry Mancini, Ray Conniff, and Ennio Morricone for orchestral sensibilities. As much as we love the iconic style of cinematic orchestration, we couldn’t leave these sounds at that. We resampled the stacks and other elements in the style of J Dilla, KRS One, and other boom bap hip hop acts. There’s also a heavy dose of hip hop and trap drums featured in the collection, processed to thump for any banging hip hop or pop style.
George Clinton's Pfunk Allstars Pack
For over 50 years, George Clinton has been keeping the funk alive with various iterations of the Parliament-Funkadelic, now the P-Funk Allstars. Since the 1960s, their distinctive funk style has drawn from psychedelic culture, outlandish fashion, science-fiction, and surreal humor. Their music, aesthetics, and performance style greatly influenced subsequent funk, post-punk, hip hop, and post-disco artists of the 1980s and 1990s, while their collective mythology helped pioneer Afrofuturism. According to NPR, "without Clinton, we'd have no NWA, no G-funk, no Tupac, no EPMD, no Ice Cube...and, of course, no one's forgotten about Dre." This pack carries on the father of funk's legacy with a diverse palette of the genre-blending sounds he’s known for such as live drum loops, funky vocal hooks, groovy bass lines, spacey synth textures, staccato horn phrases, and more.

Soulful Trap 2 is the result of many late night sessions in the studio, recording various vintage kit such as drums, pianos, organs, electronic keys, synths foley and found sound. We pulled all the stops using Fender guitars, Neve and API preamps, DIY cabinets, amps and a choice selection of microphones - all in the name of creating emotive and inspiring melodics that lean toward recreating the current sound of Future R&B, Neo-Soul and beyond.
Latin Stacks: Live & Resampled
Latin Stacks: Live & Resampled pays homage to the classic sounds of South American rhythms, melodies and live instrumentation. Reminiscent of upbeat songs that hide themes of heartbreak, conflict and celebration. Created in collaboration with Arthouse Acoustics, we recorded live upright pianos, dusty trumpet stacks, melancholy guitars and moody double bass. Blending the time-honored motifs of crackling vintage Latin vinyl with the sounds of grindhouse cinema. The Arthouse Acoustics team created full compositions and song sections and recorded with professional session musicians. These ‘stacks’ are included as full loops and also soloed layers. We curated the best selection of loops and one shots from the performances and chopped and sprinkled fx for instant inspiration. We resampled the compositions creating loop layers that combine the sonics of rare vinyl with modern left-field sound design. Using classic hip-hop chopping, pitch and time, reversing, saturation and secret sauce, the samples could inspire trap and rap as easily as house, pop and EDM. We also recorded traditional latin percussion rhythms, essential live percussion one shots and designed a full set of all new, complimentary modern trap drum loops. Thick and heavy kicks and snares, punchy reprocessed metal percs, stacked claps and hand drums. Every loop has been meticulously key-tagged and tempo-synced. Yung Gold: Trap Soul World sets it’s sites on zoned out melodic trap, dark 808 love songs and hypnotic soundcloud rap aesthetics. Expect deep sub, lofi loops, reversed textures and trap drums that hit hard. The 808s set the foundation for this extended collection of melodic loops and one shots. Including chopped grungey guitars, plucked bells and synth arpeggios, half speed keys and lofi chops. Lush Dancehall feat. Patexx
We partnered with Patexx for a deep dive into modern dancehall—an influential genre of Jamaican pop music originating in the late 1970s. Its name is owed to the spaces where popular Jamaican recordings were aired by local sound systems. Initially, the genre was a more sparse version of reggae than the roots style, which dominated much of the 1970s. In the mid-1980s, however, digital instrumentation became more prevalent, changing the sound considerably and becoming increasingly characterized by faster rhythms. In many ways, dancehall was the mother of hip hop with the vocals sung in a rap-like fashion. But modern dancehall evolved in a way that the vocal leads are more melodic. This pack pays homage to old school dancehall artists such as Bounty Killer, Shabba Ranks, Capleton, Beenie Man, and Yellow Man but also the modern melodic interpretation like Koffee, Busy Signal, Shenseea, and Popcaan. Find textured, atmospheric loops, bells, claps, mallets, drums, guitars, and of course, vocals to add dancehall flavor to your productions.

Lofi By Nature captures the lofi bedroom beats vibe and transports it outside to the city and beyond, deep into the wilderness. Field recordings and foley were recorded around the world using a Rode NT4 stereo microphone to a Zoom H6 recorder, contact microphones, samplers and even iPhones. This collection of melodic cuts and found sounds were sympathetically fused, with added saturation and tape fx, to create truly unique samples that evoke lost memories and imaginary scenes.
